TONIC teams up with Luella!

Cool Brit Luella Bartley has designed a world-exclusive T-shirt collection for the new causes we have launched this season. With names like Stag, Scary Douglas, Pagan Sun, and Robin, each have been designed especially for TONIC! Made of a 70%/30% bamboo/cotton blend, the fabric does not harm thse environment and das been produced according to ethical practices. This is conscious style in the making - grab one!

Chris Blackwell is the founder of Island Records and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee in 2001.  Chris is credited with starting the careers of U2, Bob Marley, Melissa Etheridge and The Cranberries.

Rob Broggi directs technology, media, and telecommunications equity research at Tudor Investment Corporation, (Tudor, a Boston-based venture capital company, has invested $20.5 million in TONIC.) Previously, Rob was executive director of Institutional Equity Sales at Morgan Stanley, where he founded the firm's technology specialty sales group in 1999. He also held the position of vice president of institutional equity sales, focusing on technology and healthcare research, at Cowen & Co.  

Peter Buffett, the son of the legendary investor and businessman Warren Buffett, is a musician, composer, and music producer. Peter and his wife, Jennifer Buffett, also on TONIC's board, together oversee the one-billion-dollar NoVo Foundation that was founded in 2002 with contributions from Peter's father and mother. NoVo - the word is Latin for "to change, alter, invent" - addresses the Peter's and Jennifer's most-passionate philanthropic concerns. NoVo empowers women and girls around the world and seeks to bring balance and level the playing field globally.

Phillip D. Caputo started his career in southern California as an attorney with a boutique law firm specializing in sports, entertainment and risk management. He has spent 12 years specializing in the nonprofit space becoming the founding and managing partner of 4 Friends, LLC. 4 Friends has helped countless philanthropic organizations reach their program and fundraising goals while ensuring administrative efficiency.

Phillip has worked closely with CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, leaders of the sports and entertainment industries and has appeared on several nationally televised programs -- including Larry King Live, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and The Kennedy Center Honors.

Donna Karan's quest for the perfect jeans, as well as her desire to dress her daughter Gabby, resulted in the 1989 birth of DKNY.  It grew so popular and diverse that other brands and labels spun from it, including DKNY Jeans, DKNY Active, DKNY Underwear, DKNY Jeans Juniors, and DKNY Kids.  DKNY has an accessories and shoe collection to underscore its New York City street-smart look.  In 2006, Donna founded the Urban Zen Initiative to play an active role that raises awareness and inspires change by promoting well-being, preservation of culture and empowering children thorugh forums and special events.  Donna is committed to use her heart, her creativity and her resources to make a difference to these global causes that mean the world to her. 

Phil Quartararo is one of the modern music industry’s best-known and most respected executives.  Affectionately known throughout the industry as “Phil Q”, he is highly regarded as an astute manager, a brilliant marketer, and an executive who is passionate about both the artists and the music they create. Phil has spent his career as a top executive with Island Records, Virgin Records, Warner Bros. and EMI, among others.

Mr. Quartararo currently sits on the board of Directors of the TJ Martel Foundation, Syracuse University, Newhouse School of Public Communication, the Musicians Assistance Program, the RIAA, Special Olympics, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Crippled Children’s Society, Gibson Guitar, and the Grammy Foundation.

A general partner at Venrock, a venture capital firm that funds innovators in the media space, David Siminoff brings impressive entrepreneurial, operational, and investment knowledge to TONIC. He founded and sold EastNet, a syndicate barter company that enables Eastern European TV stations trade American TV programs for advertising time from major brands. As an investment research analyst and portfolio manager at Capital Research, he was an far-sighted early investor in Yahoo!, AOL, Amazon and eBay. David funded and co-founded 4INFO, a leading mobile search service. And he held the positions of chairman, president, and CEO of Spark Networks, the parent company of JDate. He retains seats on 4INFO and Spark boards.

Ellen Siminoff is CEO of Efficient Frontier, a pioneer of dynamic search engine marketing management services.  Prior to Efficient Frontier, Mrs. Siminoff had six adventurous years as a founding executive at Yahoo!  With her husband, David, Mrs. Siminoff founded EastNet, a global syndicate barter company distributing television programming to 14 emerging market countries in exchange for advertising time.  Currently, she serves on the board of directors for U.S. Auto Parts and Journal Communications. 

Entrepreneur Pankaj Shah has a proven track record for building companies, and TONIC, is his latest success.  TONIC is a refreshing new company that finds ways to have a positive impact on people’s lives and the planet TONIC’s new line of Tees is taking small steps toward making a change in the world – nearly half of the revenue for each of four limited edition t-shirts supports a select cause.  Currently, the company supports projects providing malaria nets in Africa, educating children in India, planting trees in the United States, and providing clean water to rural communities in Honduras and Bangladesh. 

Including TONIC, Shah’s companies are valued at over $200 million and have been financed by top-tier hedge funds, venture capital firms and corporations.  Shah is the founder and former CEO of 4INFO, the mobile search service for sports, business, travel, local and entertainment information.  During his tenure, 4INFO became the dominant consumer-facing mobile search company through unique distribution agreements with USA Today and other traditional media companies.  4INFO was partially acquired by Gannett in January, 2006. In 2002, Shah founded MetroFi, the leading provider of high-speed wireless Internet access and a pioneer in the municipal WiFi market.  Prior to that, Shah led retail consumer services and built the e-commerce strategy group at Covad Communications, the only nationwide broadband network.  Shah has also served as an Engagement Manager at Sapient and held strategy positions at Staples and Inacom.

Shah currently serves on the board of directors of TONIC and MetroFi, and as an advisor to several venture-backed startups.  He is also proud to serve on the board of BRAC USA, which aims to end extreme poverty in Africa and Asia through innovative, entrepreneurial development programs.  BRAC is the largest non-profit social enterprise in the world and focuses on microfinance, health, education, and social justice and is the world's first international humanitarian and development organization initiated and led by people from the developing world with solidarity and support from the developed world.

He is an avid supporter of Music Rising, a non-profit focused on helping to bring instruments to children. He also consults on mobile, wireless and broadband issues and has been a guest speaker at a number of top schools, including the University of California Haas Graduate School of Business. He resides in Palo Alto, California, and is passionate about travel, music and sports.
