Support platform schools by providing the necessary tools to educate 7,500 children for one year

Bright young minds can flourish anymore - even on the platforms of railway stations in India. They've taken shelter to these stations to escape starvation, poverty, neglect and very bad people abusing them. Ruchika Social Service Organisation pulls a mini school out of the magic hat by providing books, writing slates, and teachers. This means 7,500 children step into safety, nutrition and start going somewhere with opportunity

We can't sleep at night knowing that there are millions of children all over India living on the streets and on railway platforms. Inderjit Khurana would commute on these trains and saw children begging for money and food instead of going to school. She realized that they couldn't beat poverty without a proper education. In 1985 she changed this and created the ‘platform school'. If she couldn't get them to go to school, she was going to have to reproduce this in their own territory - on the platform!

TONIC has partnered with Ruchika Social Service Organisation, Inderjit's project, and will fund one year's education for 7,500 children in India.
